One Dream: A Candlelight March

Next Thursday, August 27th the JVCA will be holding a very important event. At 8pm in Jefferson Village Park, we will gather and show our support for a dream, a dream that we will one day be judged not by the color of our skin but on the content of our character.

It is our turn to demonstrate that character. We will demonstrate that our neighborhood is a place where hate has no home and our compassion for others runs deep, deeper than the fear and greed which has stained our country for too long.

We know this is a difficult reality to face. That is why we choose to face it together -- hundreds of candles in the night carried by our members, our friends, all saying "I care." Please join us, your neighbors in support of the disenfranchised and oppressed, in support of yourselves as champions of a new reality: of equality and compassion and caring.
