Improving Safety for Residents on Rosemary Lane

Many thanks to the residents of the Rosemary Lane Task Force. The traffic calming initiative they have championed is a great first step in improving the neighborhood for everyone!
The residents of Rosemary Lane, Jonothan Court, Wade Place, and Terry Lane have overwhelmingly supported the recommendations of Fairfax County Department of Transportation and look forward to taking the next step toward making their area a safe and enjoyable part of the larger community.

Fairfax Traffic Calming Project Timeline
1. (COMPLETED) Residents and concerned parties form a Task Force and notify Fairfax County Department Of Transportation with their request.
2. (COMPLETED) Fairfax County Department Of Transportation assesses the request and determines feasibility.
3. (COMPLETED) Fairfax County Department Of Transportation performs Traffic Study in affected area to determine if project parameters are met and road qualifies per program requirements.
4. (COMPLETED) Resident Task Force obtains approvals from property owners directly affected, conducts canvass of properties to in area designated by Fairfax County Department Of Transportation
5. (COMPLETED) Fairfax County Department Of Transportation presents findings and recommendations in an informational meeting to the community.
6. (COMPLETED) Resident Task Force distributes ballots to properties in area designated by Fairfax County Department Of Transportation.
7. (COMPLETED) When approved, Fairfax County Department Of Transportation presents to Virginia Department of Transportation.
8. (COMPLETED) Upon Virginia Department of Transportation approval, project is scheduled for installation by the State.
As many of you have noted, Speedhumps have been installed in the six locations on Rosemary, reducing speed for drivers and the volume of traffic using this as a cut through. Many thanks to VDOT and the residents of Rosemary Lane for their help in making this a safer place to walk and live!
