Hi, Everyone. After discussing the matter as a group, the JVCA Board of Directors has decided that it is in the best interest of the neighborhood that we postpone community events until more is known about COVID-19. We believe our role means building a community through events, but also by taking precautions out of concern for the more susceptible among us. Although Springfest and our events are great fun, we feel postponing that and other such events is the responsible course of action.
In addition, we want to use the platform granted to us by all the members and residents to share helpful links. Your county has been working on plans for this situation since mid-January and, along with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has and is continuing to provide helpful and factual information. https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/novel-coronavirus https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html We ask everyone to please take a moment to review this info and then do you part by sharing these links with others in your network. Thank you for your continued support!

On Tuesday, February 18th the Board of Directors gathered for our 2nd meeting of the year. Over pizza and some delicious cookies from Maria, we discussed Springfest, to be supervised by our Vice-Chair, Crystal Street, received an update on environmental concerns from Stiven Foster, and a report on the Fire Station and other local matters from Colin Flannigan.
Thanks as always to those of you sending in questions for the board. Thanks also to the member who joined us at our meeting. We appreciate your interest and support in what we do and hope you enjoyed participating in the process! Speed Hump Update: the county says we are doing great, but we still want to hear from more residents regarding Speed Humps on Rosemary Lane! If you haven't yet mailed in your ballot, please do so. If your dog ate your ballot, let us know and the task force will bring you another (and delicious, distracting dog treats). Thanks to everyone who has responded so far!
If you have sent in a ballot or are not within the area but support pedestrian safety, go to: https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/sidewalk-on-rosemary-lane. We'll be talking more about sidewalks soon! We appreciate all of your support and have a great weekend! Like to plan ahead? So does the JVCA and we have laid out our plans for the coming year. Some selections may be subject to change, but otherwise mark your own calendar with these important dates! ![]()
