CoViD-19 is a frightening disease and a daunting health challenge. Sometimes statistics like those provided by this page maintained by Fairfax County help us understand the importance of our efforts.
Remember that although represented by numbers, people are not statistics. Each individual represented here is as real as you, your family, your neighbors, and friends. Just a reminder that although you may feel safe, it is important to maintain social distancing. This means that you should attempt to stay at home whenever possible.
If you do need to go out, please make sure to stay AT LEAST six (6) feet, or 2 meters apart from other people. This will limit the chance you pass on the virus unknowingly and that you avoid contracting it yourself. Thanks for helping others stay healthy! For those who thought they might be hearing something on humid nights, or the other day from afar, you were correct: Eric Rice-Johnston -- our resident bagpiper -- has been making the rounds through the neighborhood playing for the enjoyment of children and adults alike.
The JVCA is always pleased to have him at our events and his efforts at Fall Fest and the GDCA's Pet Parade make those events extra special. Be sure to provide a big "Thank you" should you see him strolling about, keeping people smiling around the community! We'd like to thank the Falls Church News-Press for their continuing coverage our neighborhood. the latest edition includes a brief but important piece about our efforts to communicate and coordinate with the Providence District Supervisor's office regarding CoViD-19 plans and changes to our schedule of events. The FCNP is based out of the city of Falls Church but provides local news and event coverage for the greater Falls Church Area including areas such as Greenway Downs, Seven Corners, near Arlington County, and of course Jefferson Village. This video was submitted by long-time Jefferson Village resident Ursula, reminding everyone it is "good to laugh". Enjoy!

Isolated but not alone -heart project A few people in the neighborhood heard of an idea to have kids and grown ups alike make hearts of all shapes, sizes and colors and post them on our windows and doors. It’s a great way to let folks in the neighborhood know that we are all “together” and it’s also a great social distancing scavenger hunt while we are all out on our walks. These are the ones that my family has found so far... and we will be putting our hearts in our windows this afternoon. Maria Fernandez took some time and put together some great links for her clients and the neighborhood. Thanks to her and Moore Homes for their efforts to keep everyone happy and healthy!
